Been a while

Erk, I haven't been keeping up with what I've been doing lately! Well, to keep it short, I was working on some clothes (most of which I do not have pictures for) and have turned my attention more toward customizing dolls right now.

Last Christmas I bought a Moxie Teenz Tristen to see if I really liked jointed dolls and doll work as much as I was thinking I would. Definitely a yes. After playing with her a bit I decided to do some major customizing, like a new face-up and wig. The wig is going pretty well, but I'm kind of fond of her stock face, so removing it is becoming less and less appealing. I really wanted to try a face-up on something cheap before potentially ruining a $200+ doll.

And then I found Hujoo.

This is my new doll. She's a Hujoo Suve, 12cm tall, and only about $30 including S&H. And perfect for trying out all that fun face painting stuff! I have to wait until I can get the materials I need to start doing a real face job, so for now I'm working on a wig and clothes. The wig I decided to try cheesecloth and the hot glue method, so I have to wait for the cap to dry before going any further.

Kailey and her wig-in-progress, along with the Hujoo. Kind of scale, mostly just a really cute pic. :) I'm really excited with having dolls again and was looking around for some miniatures to make them a little house, but Kailey is too big for almost everything (the Hujoo fits perfectly with most miniatures I've found, though) so I'm going to have to make stuff for them. Am I sad about that? Not in the slightest! Come pay day I'm going to go buy more clay and see if I can find some wood large enough for a Kailey-sized house, or at least a room.

The other thing that I'm working on is customizing My Little Ponies. I've wanted to try this for a while but I was waiting to find some at Goodwill for cheap. And lucky me, they had a whole bag of them the other day.

Lambs ponies for the slaughter. The two on the left are fakies, so they get the axe first. The tiny one in front is a Little Honey Pie (G1, 1990) and she's just so damn cute I think I'll just clean her up and keep her as-is. The orange had a plastic tail that I'm going to try and saw off to give her a hair one.
